Renee's right. Life slurps.
But, they say bad news comes in three's. Maybe this means I'm done for a while?
--to catch up those who weren't part of the search and rescue party yesterday... We adopted a little puppy named Maddie yesterday afternoon. It was just for a two week trial, but I was sure it would work out wonderfully. Maddie is a spunky little tan and white Yorkie. She weighs about 10 pounds. She had emotional issues, she'd been kept alone in a cage for the first 7 months of her life. But, she was doing tons better, and we were going to bring her in to the family. She was here for about 15 minutes when she ran away. For five hours, we searched the fields and the woods. We only quit when it got too dark to see.
As Daniel tried to point out to me, we did more than could have been expected of anyone. Bethany and I were literally out there for all 5 hours. (our scarred, sore legs will prove it) Daniel came out as soon as he was off of work, and he didn't stop until well after sunset. Joseph, Grace and Renee all were wandering the hills for hours on end. (Chris was at work)
This runs headlong into my theme for yesterday though. "We can get through anything as long as we stick together." That was suppose to mean that we could accomplish anything. I know it never really meant that, but in a way, it felt like it did. And, here we are, being pulled apart like a shoe lace untied, and we can't even find one lousy little puppy lost in a soybean field.
Life slurps.
